Prescription and over the counter medications help to minimize the severity of your symptoms while also helping your body fight off the cold. Keep in mind that it may take a few days to get rid of a cold and get back on your feet. By eating properly, getting some sleep, drinking plenty of fluids and taking your medicine, you have a much better chance of healing quickly and getting back to the business of living.
